When Amanda McMaine got her first book about yoga at 10 years of age, she didn’t pay too much attention to it. But, when she was in her teens, and contracted an illness that compromised her immune system, she went back to the book and it changed her life. “I found that practicing yoga not only helped me get well, but it helped me create a balance in my life,” she said. Amanda not only practices yoga as a personal lifestyle, she works daily on sharing the ancient practice with students throughout Madison County and the world. Achieving that balance, and communicating it to her students, has been a driving force in Amanda’s life. She has made a career of teaching yoga to students on a local, national and international basis.
