The setting sun cast a rosy glow over the ice-covered marshes as it slipped ever closer to the horizon. The fading light flooded through the windows of the small second-story room, illuminating the five women sitting cross-legged on the floor.

Rather than trying to find inner peace seated on the hardwood floor of a gym studio, these yoga practitioners prefer a more private, unique setting. Local art galleries, nature centers and even coffee shops are following suit and offering offbeat locations to those who want a little atmosphere with their yoga. The beach is usually the local yoga student's first choice. But the late winter chill that still hovers in the air forces them to look for opportunities inside.
