I've been working out and don't notice differences

Hey everyone. I've been lifting weights for about three months and haven't gained any mass. Is it my diet or do I need to do harder reps? Also, should I take whey or soybean whey shakes? And lastly, I found a site about Colloidal Minerals and I'm going to look into it some more. Thanks.
