Disabilities lobby: Winning war against AIDS

Ransford Wright, executive director of Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities, said the country was on the right track to addressing HIV/AIDS among the disabled community. "We are not lagging behind, but we are not where we would want to be. There is much to be done and we think that we are on the right track," Wright said during a stakeholder dialogue on 'Disability and HIV/AIDS' at the offices of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in Kingston. The Ministry of Health "is doing a mammoth task, along with the various public servants, such as the nurses and guidance counsellors in schools," said Wright.
